STAR Chapter 297 - Toys in the Sun Run

Sunday, December 10 - We had a great time at the 19th Annual SFPC Christmas Toys in the Sun Run. The best part is that we raised money for Joe Dimaggio Childrens Hospital and donated gifts for needy children. They estimate that 30,000 motorcycles participate in this event including celebrities such as Steven Tyler. I don't have the final figure, but the goal was to raise $600,000.00. This years ride occurred just days after the loss of Bob Amchir, the founder and chief organizer of the event. You will see in the photos that everyone wore a sticker in memory of Bob. I was lucky to meet Bob a few times but more importantly, the children of South Florida were fortunate to have him looking out for them. Bob, you will be missed.
