Archie's Seabreeze - January 16, 2010
We met at Lester's Diner in Margate on Saturday, Jan 16th for a 95 mile ride up to Fort Pierce and Archie's Seabreeze. With 8 bikes and 10 folks we headed out for our first official ride of the year. The weather was suppose to be partly sunny and warm after several days of cold and miserable. Although the temperatures were mild, it was cloudy and windy. Our route took us up the Florida Turnpike with a stop at the Port St, Lucie service plaza for a much needed rest stop. Another 15 miles into Fort Pierce found us at Archie's. We grabbed a large table outside a little too near the live music. The food was slow but very tasty when it did finally arrive. The 50-50 was small but our winner Diane welcomed the winnings. Our route home was going to take us down A1A all the way to Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano. We dropped Diane at her Mother's house in Jupiter and decided with the clouds and wind to head back over to the Turnpike for the rest of the ride home. It was getting late and Gadget blew a headlight fuse, so wanted to get home before dark. We bucked a 15 knot headwind all the way home. Traffic was light so the ride wasn't too bad.
