Clewiston-Roland Martin's Marina / Fort Lauderdale Summer Bikefest
With 18 bikes we headed for Clewiston again. Every other time for the last two years we have tried to do this ride we've been rained out. We made it almost all day without a drop. After having a nice lunch at Roland Martin's Tiki Bar we headed back South for the Hard Rock Casino to meet up with several members who volunteered to work a tent at the Fort Lauderdale Summer Bikefest. There were vendors with parts, clothing, food and of course live entertainment. The bikini contest was one of the show highlights. There was also an impromtu burnout pit where one bike vendor was showing off the power his bikes make. They burned out a perfectly good tire and made an inch deep groove 3 inches wide in the parking lot. Black clouds loomed ominously to the west and the ride group beat them to the casino by a couple of hours. Very late in the day the skies opened up and cooled everyone down. Good ride, good event.
